Frequently Asked Questions

  • True North Roofing serves Central Jersey and nearby surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether you fall within our service area, feel free to reach out and ask.

  • We handle roof repairs, full roof replacements, gutter installations and replacements, and roofing for new construction and additions. We also offer roof inspections, especially for homeowners preparing to sell. Residential projects are our primary focus.

  • We look for "hidden" issues like flashing failures or pipe boot cracks that a home inspector will find. Fixing a $500 leak now prevents a $15,000 credit request later. If the roof is good, a positive Roof Condition report will build trust with potential buyers.

  • Our team brings over 20 years of hands on roofing experience. That experience guides our recommendations, timelines, and workmanship on every project.

  • Yes. True North Roofing is fully licensed and insured as a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor. We meet all state requirements so homeowners can feel confident they’re working with a qualified, legitimate contractor.

  • Yes, significantly. While many contractors can buy GAF shingles, only the top 7% of roofers in North America are "GAF Certified." For you, this means we can offer the System Plus Limited Warranty, which provides 50 years of 100% coverage on manufacturing defects. If you use a non-certified roofer, that 100% coverage typically drops to just 10 years. We’ve been vetted for licensing, insurance, and professional standing so you don't have to do the homework yourself.

  • Because True North is GAF Certified, the manufacturer (GAF) pays the "reasonable cost of labor" to repair or replace the defective shingles for the full 50-year warranty period. This includes the labor to tear off the old shingles and the labor to install the new ones. Most standard warranties only cover the cost of the shingles themselves, leaving you with a labor bill that can often be more expensive than the materials.

  • Absolutely. One of the best features of a GAF-certified installation is that the warranty is transferable to the next homeowner. This is a great selling point in the Central Jersey real estate market, as it proves to potential buyers that the roof was installed by a professional and is backed by North America’s largest roofing manufacturer for decades to come.
